another ugly incident happened somewhere near my street, just one day before the presidential election. Friday 27th March, 2015  to be precise. i said another ugly incident, because i've witnessed similar cases not once, not twice, not thrice. well, it has to do with the "gold-digging syndrome." there's this lovely young lady(name withheld) from Kogi State who is very very industrious. i don't really know exactly how the romance started. but then, she's into an affair with one lover-boy. the sad thing was that the said lover-boy had nowhere to lay down his head, o so he claimed. so my lovely caring young lady chose to feed and harbour him in her apartment. she didn't just stop there. she gave him some cool cash to start a business. mind you, nothing goes for nothing... so my lovely young lady lavished the lover-boy with cash, with the hope of a marriage union in return. good bargain, isn't it? well to cut the long story short, few weeks later, the lover-boy found an opportunity to strike. he struck! and hard, too! i used to think that the word  "gold-digger" is only associated with women. unfortunately, the lover-boy in this saga proved to me that what a woman can do, a man can do even best. so guess what happened...  he vanished into the thin air with the lady's expensive phone, huge sum of money and some other valuable items he could lay his hands on. now the lady is emotionally devastated. what's your advice to her? how can ladies guard against such mistakes in life?
